The Merge

An event in the Ethereum blockchain’s history in which the original layer of the blockchain network, was combined with a proof of stake consensus mechanism. This conjoining of layers, made crypto mining on this platform more energy and time efficient, and also made the overall blockchain network on Ethereum more safe and secure.
