Initial Coin Offering (ICO)

A method used by a company to raise funds for a new idea, or venture into crypto finance, in which a company sells a new cryptocurrency to aspiring project investors. Companies can also sell their investors utility crypto tokens during this time, which incentivizes investors to buy the new cryptocurrency, as many utility tokens during these offerings reward investors with representation or stake within that company.
